Customizing the Viewer

You can customize the Viewer's file-loading and appearance.

To customize the Viewer:

  1. Click Tools | Options, and select Viewer.

  2. Specify the options.

  3. Click OK.

Viewer options

Decoding and caching

Decode next image in advance

Decodes the next image in the file list to increase loading speed.

Keep previous image in memory

Retains the previous image in memory to increase loading speed.

Resampling quality

Highest quality

Applies a bicubic resampling filter when you zoom an image. Minimizes the raggedness normally associated with image expansion.

High quality

Applies a b-spline resampling filter when you zoom an image. Produces smooth transitions, but may cause excessive blurring.

Normal quality

Applies no resampling filter when you zoom an image.

Startup files

Replace images in list

Views externally opened images with the current instance of the Viewer, if available. The Viewer clears the current image list before loading the new images.

Images in new window

Views externally opened images with a new instance of the Viewer.

Dropped files

Replace images in list

Replaces the current image list with images dropped into the Viewer from another instance of ACDSee or Windows Explorer ?!--}}end!kadov-->.

Add images to list

Adds images dropped into the Viewer from another instance of ACDSee or Windows Explorer?!--}}end!kadov--> to the current image list.

Other options

Always on top

Specifies that the Viewer always remains the top window in a stack.

Full-screen

Specifies full-screen mode.

Hide mouse cursor in full-screen

Hides the mouse pointer in full-screen mode.

Instant image preview

Displays an instant preview that improves in quality as the image is decoded. If not selected, images are decoded before they are displayed in the Preview pane.

Exit after delete/move

Closes the Viewer and returns to the Browser after you delete or move a file.

View all images in folder

Adds all images in a folder to the current image list when you view any file from that folder.

Show full image file path

Displays the image's full file path in the Viewer's status bar.
