Disk Image Calculator

It is useful to know how much space is needed for the disk image(s) based upon how much used space to backup.

The disk image calculator in DiskState summarizes your selected disk partitions for you and shows you the total approximated disk image size.

If you select "Normal Compression", DiskState will simulate a 20 % compression rate for the image(s). "Max Compression" will take off 40 % of the total. "No Compression" disables this approximation.

Typical use of this feature: Every few days you might decide to backup your critical partitions using your favorite drive image application. With DiskState, you can make a strategic use of a large number of partitions and have DiskState calculate how much disk space you will need for the image based upon how much space is getting backed up.
