Welcome to KO Approach, a desktop utility application designed to speed up file navigation in Windows Explorer. Unlike the traditional way of accessing files where a window needs to be opened to reveal a folder's content, Approach offers a convenient and easy to navigate set of hierachical menus.
When Approach is first launched, it automatically displays its Main Window enabling you to quickly view and/or edit its settings. You will be opening it each time a certain parameter needs to be modified. The window is presented as a number of tabs.
In the topmost part of the General tab is a section with three check boxes each of which toggles a corresponding program Feature.
Folder Menus
You can use Folder Menus to quickly browse the contents of any folder right from Windows Explorer. To take advantage of Folder Menus do the following:
  1. Make sure the Enable Folder Menus check box is checked;
  2. Switch to any of the open Explorer windows. The Desktop window is a good starting point as well;
  3. Click on an icon of any folder with your Left Mouse Button and leave the button pressed for a few moments;
  4. A menu appears that displays all the items in the folders that you have clicked;
  5. You can now release the Left Mouse Button and navigate the appeared menu.
Approach Items
You can use Approach Items to rapidly access your favorite files, folders, and Web addresses from the menu tha is displayed whenever you click on the Approach Tray Icon .
You can customize this menu by adding shortcuts or even creating individual folders inside a special directory named KO Approach Items.
To start using this feature do the following:
  1. Make sure the Enable Approach Items check box is checked;
  2. Click the Show Items button to reveal the contents of the KO Approach Items directory in Windows Explorer.
  3. Create shortcuts or other items of your preference in this directory;
  4. Click the Approach Tray Icon with your Left Mouse Button;
  5. Navigate a menu that will appear:
Titlebar Menus
Titlebar Menus improves the functionality of the Up One Level button by displaying the whole folder hierarchy in a single convenient menu.
To start using this feature do the following:
  1. Make sure the Enable Titlebar Menus check box is checked;
  2. Open a folder, such as My Computer in Windows Explorer.
  3. Click the Window's title bar with your Left Mouse Button having the CTRL key pressed;
  4. Browse the items of parent-to-child menu that will appear.
